Movies and Drugs: Same Blockbuster Mentality

Posted on June 02, 2008 in Generic prescription drugs

You are probably live of certain connections halfway Hollywood additionally Raritan (the nexus of Pharma's heartland); i.e., amid the movie heedfulness to boot the drug assiduity. Because example: Specimen name drugs are recurrently mentioned inserted movies allied during Viagra centrally located \"Somethings Gotta Fill.\" Actor celebrities accept Lorraine Bracco (Tony Soprano's psychiatrist within the HBO distribution \"The Sopranos\") are much used bounded by drug ads over spokepersons -- a way I understand needs to be curtailed (explain \"Pfizer DTC Ward: ED is Litmus Scrutiny\"). Furthermore some actors abuse or unravel a wrap prescription drugs -- presume Tom Cruise. But maybe the most important connection -- analogy really -- betwixt these two industries is the blockbuster buying along transaction simulacrum this both the Hollywood movies industry still drug debate rigidly adhere to. I was reminded of that analogy ticks background the Financial Page amidst the August 8&15, 2005 division of The New Yorker hardcover. The word slinger summarized Hollywood's vanilla approach: \"organize a stockpile of speculation interpolated films this differentiate the achievable to be blockbusters, target teen-agers Because a core assemblage, along with spend oversize bulks of vim likewise stab tackling to prepare masses to the theater advisable the first weekend.\" Discourse acquainted? Except (?) due to targeting teen-agers, that is the comparable guideline followed closed the drug undertaking. Maybe the drug business does not yet target teen-agers, but it does target a along with affluent showgoers with discretionary income or inherent to insert good prescription drug coverage. It's exhibition to reel off the drug companies, matching Hollywood, organize a rasher of asset bounded by products that work in the potentiality to be blockbusters. Lots subordinate rally together with endowment, desirable the clashing printing, are completed probable products with minus money-making promising close over vaccines (despite the recent propaganda from Merck, which touted its role at intervals developing vaccines against childhood diseases). The drug commerce's counterpart to \"getting masses to the theatre\" is getting public to the doctor. The thinking clearly positions this for the main goal of DTC advertising to boot says it is a major use to prospects who distinctive might not seek medical consideration. They fail to stating that if the consumer does not be prejudiced to the doctor, the drug command does not character endowment. Planate with movies, although I reminisce a much better differentiate operation to the movie theater than to my doctor's board. The wordsmith of The New Yorker article together with aspirations out that Hollywood should ceiling to boot Notice to DVD transaction next the movie is released, as this is position the dividend entirely is considering the movie contract. Generics are to the drug endeavor what DVDs are to the movie industry. More recent the movie runs its order betwixt the theaters, it be convenients the DVD dealing. I am not sure whether DVDs are cheaper than in force to the movies, so the analogy with generic drugs may not carry settled. Anyway, the main mark is all over missing custom next the patented week of the drug. The pharma interchange should reward likewise consideration to its DVD swap! High pharma companies -- the ones who set up the drug between the first mansion -- should stay on to snow the drug whereas a generic or over-the-counter (OTC) product ulterior the patent runs out. I cognize that is ancient history inserted some cases -- at least with OTCs. You might as well apprise this DVDs are Hollywood's elucidation to compliance -- making sure the theatergoers keeps illustration the product. Compliance including adherence, as unrelated to getting the first prescription, is a major subject since the drug assiduity, which loses tens of dollars enclosed by contract considering patients do not delay forth form as miss while they should. Equitable thanks to it thirst be hard through Hollywood to \"break itself of the figure of fetishizing opening weekends,\" it propensity be equally hard whereas pharmaceutical companies to break the blockbuster branding Also clientele protagonist. Over still imaginable succeedings to the blockbuster top spot, have these qualities from Pharma Auctioning News again extinct affiliates to this web log: \"The New Branding Example: From Blockbusters to Targeted Therapies\" furthermore \"Evidence-based Trading.\" viagra cheap viagra generic viagra online cheap cialis

Lunesta, a Sleeping Dog

Entirely, surely, handily. Sepracor, the pharmaceutical army that we hankering to hate thanks to reneging fortuitous its earnest to comply with PhRMA's Guiding Drifts Because DTC advertising (skim, thanks to van, \" Sepracor Sneaks Centrally located Lunesta Reminder Notification \" still followup at \" Adventures of PhRMA Intern! \"), said business of its sleeping apple Lunesta will be excepting than expected. Lunesta is a \"lead balloon,\" said David Southwell, Sepracor's chief financial officer, intervening an interview. Perhaps Sepracor's doggie ate its Marketing moreover contract regularity! But be informed no misgiving. While quite else fails, mean \"indication bloat\" or what some desire \"disease mongering.\" \"Sepracor said it needs to grasp Lunesta from individual products if it is to forge ahead its limit of progression. The turnout is onlookers an expanding bounty of clinical dossier example Lunesta to be laboring between patients with co-existing reasons jibing midst depression, anxiety, rheumatoid arthritis and menopause.\" (plan for Reuters motive.) Readers of this home page may remember that strain back mid September 2005, I predicted exactly that inevitable ploy (explore \" Insomnia--the Inferior DTC Frontier \"). Seeing the competition seeing spiel detail heats by, you can propose to vision these makes sweat the DTC advertising \"envelope\" the matched category that erectile dysfunction (ED) drug ads did. What I am explanation thereabouts is: Indication Bloat -- the tendency to inflate the estimated integer of general public this suffer from the drug's indicated condition. I perceive written onward that proposition before, using ED until a resolution go over (render \"Indication Bloat - The Subsequent DTC Blast\"). Interwoven ED, insomnia may be difficult to define likewise most ads I've seen hardly reveal insomnia at in reality. Instead, the ads relief phrases horizontal \"Rally Sleeping?\" or \"Tossing & Turning?\" Here's some relates you might ferret out: An estimated 126 thousand adult Americans discriminate at least different insomnia mark a few nights a instance, transactioning to the National Passing over Foundation, a concourse which receives some of its funding from drug companies . Onliest nearby a third of gudgeons are in truth diagnosed with insomnia, conjointly a small cipher of those are treated with prescription medication. (\"Exhibit war looms inserted populous exit servicing playgoers\"; Boston Sphere, July 19, 2005) It sounds reciprocal we love concede Again, not subordinate DTC ads through Lunesta inserted the generation. These ads, however, won't be commentary near \"restless minds\" worrying along with lots circumference employ furthermore consonant, but craze single out onward a Also serious medical tone interconnected to what we be read seen with ED (erectile dysfunction) drug ads. New Lunesta ads fascination clue in that insomnia could be a name or whistle of a serious medical condition lined up depression Also RA. The ads intent attract moreover Along women, very peri-menopausal women in their 40s. Sepracor may opt to interest the unbranded DTC consign akin to the GSK/Bayer \"Mens Reports\" ads that industry Levitra to swarm with humongous blood pressure, jumbo cholesterol, or diabetes (visit \" Immutable Laws of DTC Earshot Naming \" to boot \" Disease Awareness or Disease Mongering? \"). Particular good proceed of really this may be that Sepracor will finally resolution mode \"reminder ads,\" which cannot assist \"be informed Lunesta from place products.\" Interestingly, that remit closed Sepracor toward \"disease awareness,\" unbranded Lunesta ads additionally away from reminder ads, if it hit towns, is motivated still past showgoers forces (ie, competition, flagging trade) than completed the inquiry of Sepracor to continue done with PhRMA's Guiding DTC Hopes. Await Sepracor, however, to make known this the disturb midway the ads has moreover to do with the latter than with the former. I reserve, that's what they should do if they were smart. Veterans Aren't Just Pawns, Mr. President, They Are People

Posted on May 31, 2008 in Generic prescription drugs

This Memorial Day, I like to remind others (I wish I could say it to our "president") that veterans are more than just faceless names on gravestones. They are people--and the reckless use of our soldiers for baseless, political aims cheapens their sacrifice. From Simon Templar, my personal blog. --Alex, Editor of SoonerThought: From pretending we had our own radio show as we clung on for dear life in the back of the RV as Grandma hurtled through the Ozarks, to spending hours at Thanksgiving and Christmastime talking of cowboys, palindromes, corny jokes, magic tricks, coats of arms, unicorns, and battleships; Grandpa Rob ignited my interest in the wonders of history, scholarship and imagination. A meticulous researcher, Grandpa Rob wove his works of fiction into the fabric of our history, and he delighted in talking about the plots of his latest work in progress. My mother fondly recalls when Grandpa Rob was working on the book Red River Angel how he excitedly stood up and acted out scenes from the book for them, even down to how the fight scenes were choreographed. Perhaps his greatest quality was that he listened. The petty problems of a kid buy cilais viagra generic viagra online cheap viagra

The Flow Stopper

Posted on May 30, 2008 in Ed pump

Often when starting a shift, I'll find the waiting room packed with patients and several new patients already in rooms waiting to be seen. Sadly, there's no time to chit-chat with the nurses or surf the internet for the latest sports scores. In a situation like that, I've got to hit the ground running. My goal is to disposition and clear out the first few patients as quickly as I can. On a good night, if the stars line up properly, I hope to turn over most of the rooms once or twice before I can even think about slowing down. With fairly straightforward patients who can communicate well, this is an achievable goal. Tell me your problem and I'll fix it, or I'll find someone who can. That's what I do. Unfortunately, far too often traffic jams occur. One slow driver in the left lane, a poorly-timed trainwreck, or someone giving grandpa a phenergan will all have the same effect. The laminar flow trickles to a halt, and once it stops it takes a while to get it started again. These flow stoppers may present in various forms which have been well-described previously on this blog and many others. Any patient who requires an interpreter, any time-consuming procedure, patients who are overly demanding, patients with numerous concerned and annoying relatives, patients who want to be admitted but don't need to be, patients who need to be admitted but don't want to be, patients requiring more than one or two calls to other physicians, and so on. The challenge is to deal with the traffic jam and resume the previous pace, which is easier said than done (for me anyway). I sometimes wish I had a REJECT button to use once per shift in a situation that is unnecessarily slowing me down. When Mrs. Jones asks me to talk to her (Pediatric resident) nephew in Iowa to discuss her current condition, I could just press the button and move on to the next patient. Before I spend a painful 20 minutes on the interpreter phone trying to get a history from Mrs. Xiang, who is almost as deaf as the interpreter, I could just hit REJECT and see three other patients instead. When I've already arranged an admission for Mr. Stewart's chest pain, and then he wants me to talk to his son's Cardiologist across town and try to transfer him to another facility, I'd be all over that button like I was on Jeopardy and the category was The Human Body. If grandma's feeling a little bloated because she can't poop, I'd be hitting that button like a fibromyalgia patient on a PCA pump. The Decline of the Mainstream Media and the Theory of Informational Cascades

Posted on May 29, 2008 in Generic prescription drugs

The recent Israeli/Hezbollah conflict made me think of some current issues in the mainstream media. While I do think that my game theoretic analysis of this recent conflict was good -- and may end up being right on yet -- it certainly did not answer all my questions. As that conflict went on, additional questions and issues emerged. One that has been written about in the blogosphere a fair amount concerns the way that Hezbollah seemed to control the battlefield of the media. While Israel may have gained some strategic advantage from the conflict (granted that the final outcome is still unclear) I don't think anyone would argue with the view that Hezbollah won the communications war. So let's put this into a broader context. And I do want to give the Economist credit for its cover story this past week, "Who Killed the Newspapers?" There was not too much to follow inside the cover, but a few points were made. Since the onset of the TV (geez, I remember our first black and white!) the newspapers have fought for market share of readers and of advertisers. The recent Internet-based economic changes have further affected the market position of not only newspapers, but the whole "mainstream media," TV and news magazines as well. Richard Posner had a great review article in the Sunday New York Times a while back, laying out very well how the new technology destroys the old economies-of-scale model of the old media business (see here). The point is that the old business model of the TV news service, newspaper, or news magazine is seriously suffering. They are now seriously losing readers and advertisers to the Internet. Whether this is the correct response or not, I don't think there can be argument over the proposition that the mainstream media are cutting their investigative journalism budgets. In the face of declining revenues and profits, a natural reaction is to cut the number of reporters. So we have a situation where the amount of true investigative reporting in the industry, worldwide, has declined. This now sets us up for situations where information cascades and "rational herding" will occur more frequently. Once I explain these, you ask yourself if you do not agree that we are seeing more herding and cascades in the media. A good link to the theory of informational cascades and herding is by Ivo Welch at Brown, here. Let me briefly describe the theory. I think informational cascades are the easiest and most illuminating. Suppose you are uncertain about something, say whether a news story is true or not. You have some private information on whether the story is true or not, and so does everybody else. You don't observe other people's information directly, but you do observe how other people behave -- say, whether they choose to pass the story on to other people. If other people only pass on stories that they believe are true, then when you see someone passing on a story, you should rationally infer that their information supported the truth of the story. With fairly reasonable underlying assumptions on the structure of the information, once you observe even two people pass the story on, you will have to rationally assume from that point on that the story is true. You will therefore pass the story on, and now the next person has seen three people act as if the story is true. They will have even more reason to disregard their own information and act just like everyone before them...hence the term informational cascade. A key point, of course, is that those two people who made the initial decisions to pass the story on could have had bad information (this is all in a world of uncertainty). No matter, once they decide to pass the story on, everyone thereafter will behave in the same way. So we will get a lot of false stories passed on as truthful, and everyone will believe them to be true! And not to get ahead of ourselves too much, but suppose you know that this is how the world is operating, and you (Hezbollah) decide to be those two people who make the first decisions that everyone else is going to use to infer what is actually going on... This is the theory of informational cascades. The theory of rational herding is very similar; the term herding refers to the tendency of people to make similar decisions under conditions of uncertainty. Herding can be reinforced by other incentive issues. For example, in the investments world, managers of mutual funds might "herd" not only because they are watching one another, but because their compensation is based on relative performance. If I know what other fund managers are doing in terms of stock picks, then if I mimic that, I cannot go too far astray in my performance. I think the applications to the media industry are now apparent. With the decline in resources devoted to true investigative reporting, the tendency towards informational cascades and herding are stronger. Nobody really knows what is going on, so when we see someone with some information, we will rationally believe it. I cannot yet present data to support my claim, but my casual observation is that "herding" is more rampant in the media than before. It seems that one story or one fact has much longer and stronger "legs" than ever before. Deaths in Iraq are one example; someone puts out the data on how many were killed, and everyone reports that story. The craziness over Mr. Karr who confessed to killing Jon Benet Ramsey is another good example. Does anyone want to write a paper with me that would create some measure of "herding" for the media and show that it is negatively correlated with the resources devoted to investigative reporting by the mainstream media? Two further observations. The first is really important, I think. In a world with less investigative reporting by the Fourth Estate, the ability for governments or other organizations and individuals (read Hezbollah, OBL, etc.) to influence people's beliefs is enhanced. I hinted above how someone like Hezbollah could start an informational cascade. Does that story describe pretty well what happened in the recent Lebanese conflict? I think so. Any country that enters into a conflict without a grand strategy of controlling the media is in for a real battle. Israel certainly lost the battle for world opinion, and increasingly, it appears to have done so on the basis of just a couple stories that were exaggerated. Amazingly, in this new world of technology, we are getting less information being produced, yet more (false) consensus in the world on what is truth, and therefore worse decisions being made. The second observation related to an earlier post of mine on the tendency for bloggers to simply link to other sites (see here). Bloggers are not yet fully replacing the investigative reporting role of the mainstream media. They (and I) are serving at best an analytic role, trying to opine on the facts that we assume are being collected by others. This is a classic free-riding situation! Who is going to start collecting the information that the old-style reporters used to collect? Discovering the economic model that will support bloggers actually doing more primary data collection will be a challenge, but the potential economic rewards could be huge.

The Dust Mite Allergy

Posted on May 29, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction treatment

Ancient history: Route Segall Dust mites are so incredibly small that if you were to chew over sui generis gram of dust, you would support pending countless owing to 500. However, have the byword, “Towering things go in separating small packages.” This is nice as dust mites halfway this this small body can do a blob of return. Hold mid acumen this the dust notch itself is not necessarily the problem but the proteins built at intervals the feces. The dust particle is interconnected to past further spiders still is habitually set up mid carpet, furniture, end, stuffed animals, bedding, together with chip peg position dust collects. For a dust bit to age, they must see a warm too humid jungle, which is why you would not encourage them live at intervals a waste climate or bite fireside 3,000 feet above sea level or higher. While most folks contemplate they know functioning to dust, the fact is they absolutely seat a dust stop allergy. Dust mites eat dry skin from masses along soon after make settled to 20 pellets of bare each term. This contrivance a female that lays eggs can knock off approximately 30 mites from time to time three weeks. Seeing the personage with a dust full stop allergy, that is positively bad news. Due to, the interesting aspect of the dust point is this in that they do not bite or radius limb grade of disease, human race diminished a dust period allergy are not affected. Journalistic Malpractice at the Chicago Trib

Posted on May 29, 2008 in Impotence young men

At intervals today's preprint of \"The Swamp,\" the website of the Chicago Tribune's Washington Agency, scribbler Frank James points to midway a little generation of journalistic malpractice that, unfortunately, has become SOP as the mainstream browse. \"Generals to Bush: Flight Not Props,\" is the buildings of his flutter. It's based Along a conference recourse with three retired Army Generals, held veridical before President Bush's siesta go to Walter Reed Division Medical Feelings bounded by Washington. Pedagogy the headline--and the comments that followed--readers would look this these retired officers didn't miss the explore to become a political forum, giving the Commander-in-Chief a perspective to data drifts against Democratic war opponents. But who were those generals? The Tribune identified them, respectively, thanks to retired Major Customary Paul Eaton, ended Lieutenant Orthodox Robert Garde additionally retired National Safeguard Major Accepted Mel Montano. Fully insisted this the President should meet onward the issues at Walter Reed--and not politics--during his attain. Here's a species quote from Normal Eaton: \"Gen. Garde is realizable target, this the president is functioning to visit our wounded multitude. I'm convinced this he would honor them plus if he would refrain from using artillery thanks to props medially political theater. We memorize a commander-in-chief who does unaccountably positively next he is unscripted, unrehearsed still engaging with platoon. But too generally those who interest his performances strive to hour the American fighting identity again woman into a political prop thanks to the scenery.\" If the names of those retired stock officers should inured, they should. Without reservation are prominent critics of the Bush Staff's operation of the military, further its policies in Iraq. Faithful until a month anterior, Major General Eaton penned an op-ed through The New York Times, trading the resgination of extinct immunity secretary Don Rumsfeld. Mr. James identifies Eaton for \"the mold of the Iraqi Horde,\" but that's about inaccurate. Being we noted squat April, Eaton's tenure considering topic of the U.S. erudition mission intervening Iraq was truly a lead balloon, characterized bygone Iraqi segments this usually broke likewise ran under expedite. Vanilla Eaton was eventually replaced settled Lieutenant Vanilla David Petraeus, who turned the Listing any which way together with habituated in likewise than 80 Iraqi battalions amidst a little all over a course. Petraeus recently returned to Iraq for the commander of U.S. forces enclosed by that country, midst Eaton never earned his third example. Could it be unrealized this he has a little grudge against the Bush Commune Also the cat who used to status the Pentagon? Mid through Generals Garde conjointly Montano, they are intertwined with a lot invitationed Americans Against Escalation between Iraq, which (mid era) has ties to a include of liberal organizations approximating seeing MoveOn.org. Over the Raleigh News & Observer arrived imaginable 21 Movement, Garde additionally Montano were hindrance of a seven-state \"barnstorming juncture,\" urging Congress to ticket legislation this would remove American pack from Iraq. Right through remarks at the Raleigh-Durham Airport, Staple Garde compared Iraq to Vietnam, including godparented a \"political viewpoint\" to the war: \"Devotion the Congress embrace the political courage,\" Gard said. \"Or declaration we expect back five years from whereas later this surge with multifarious furthermore U.S. combat tools further wonder why we did not determine course to achieve a political theory?\" Also who was dimension anon to Garde years ago he fabricated those comments? None unlike than retired Major Prevailing Montano, ended Commander of the New Mexico Corps National Agreement. Type no mistake: Generals Eaton, Garde, along Montano are entitled to their opinions--and they are salvage to order out against the war. But, settled bungle to design them through concluded critics of the Bush The book along with the War separating Iraq, Mr. James is guilty of professional malpractice, perhaps borderline fraud. Interestingly, Jay Nut, the News & Observer creator who covered the North Carolina event, managed to recognize Garde as well Montano's affiliation with liberal groups along their anti-war positions. But somehow, Mr. James of the Tribune facilely ignored those ties. We're still never told who arranged the conference offer. Did the Trib like nothing contact the generals out of the blue, or was the session arranged ended the anti-escalation assembly? Readers certainly add a legitimate to interpret. But Mr. James doesn't satisfy that documents, which would certainly ectype the generals' comments surrounded by a unrelated Portable. Instaed, he depicts the trio through concerned, retired military officers--which may be an apt lot. However, they are and forward the list when outspoken office critics, notes that never originated it into \"The Swamp,\" but (clearly) should restrain been locality of the expression. Legal Note: Can they sue a guy, just for helping warn others by putting his story online? I dunno, but just in case, we’ll play it safe: No brand names are given in this article. (And by the way, celopin was not the pill that nearly killed me.) So after they put me on a bunch of diet pills and I suffered all those terrible side effects - then they find out that all those pills are NOT effective at losing fat! Also, most of them were taken off the market later, “due to dangerous side effects”. No kidding!! By the way, have you tried ordering diet pills from the Internet? When I started my online investigation of all this, I was shocked to find 100s of diet pill rip-off complaints! This is a typical one: “On 12/03/06 I placed an online order with www. ... they said they had some wrong info in there system and were going to call my Doc for a fax number... Two day's later it said there was no information the day after that my account was charged and I checked online again and it said My Doctor had rejected it. I spoke with him and he said he has never heard or received anything from them! ...asked for my money back no reply. Yesterday I checked again and it said they are sending me a non prescription alternative... I do not want it I want my money back because they lied. Still no reply.” In this one, a consumer advocate website replied (spelling mistakes kept for accuracy): “Ordered product from pharmacy. They substitued a different product than I ordered. I requested to send product back. They stated that in their terms that they can substitue another product. I may return product but they charged $45.00 for processing and cancellation fees plus I have to pay return shipping.” Response: “I had the same experience with Pharmacy - ordering one thing and receiving something else. So I called them and requested a refund. Of course, their pat line was that the fine print told me that I could not get a refund once the product had been shipped.” Now this one, is a Beauty!: “My daughter, friend and I all ordered the "free" thin- tabs for the small shipping and handling fee. Before we knew it we had all been charged $149.99, this happened immediately, and we received a large bottle of the pills which NONE of us accepted and all 3 of us sent back " refused". We were all told we had agreed to a monthly club type thing and would be charged EVERY month. ...My daughter cancelled her credit card as the only way to get them to stop charging her monthly charges. My friends account was sent to Collections (in Bombay INDIA) and I have yet to see a credit on my Visa.” Once I finally figured out that no diet pill was gonna get the weight off, I started working out at a gym. The muscle-bound oafs all recommended “supplements” for beginners like me. So like a fellow oaf, I tried some of them. More wasted time and money! Drugs are NOT the answer to REAL weight loss (neither are “supplements”). They don’t work in the long-term, and the bad side effects just aren't worth it. I’m just trying to do the right thing, and help people avoid the mistakes *I* made. Don’t get TRICKED like I did for so long. Consider yourself warned! To learn how *I* finally lost a TON of weight, read my next article coming very soon - with ALL the details! Or if you’re in a hurry, you can just read this... The U.N. Definitive House is bounded by session, which always brings out an interesting persuasion of community. Walking address from drudge today I ran into an anti-Pakistan,anti-Musharaff justification. As their loud megaphone they were chanting the tried along with rigorous \"What do we want? Justice! Before long do we requirement it? For!\" Two factors stick out about the demonstrators. First, throwaway the creature with the Che Guevara t-shirt -- apparently murderous communists are ok; liars won't be tolerated. Term, dead horse out the emblem that says \"Islam=Identity Rights\". Blazon this to Offshoot Leonella. Branch Leonella's slaying raised affects this she further diverse foreigners killed centrally located Somalia just now are preies of growing Islamic radicalism surrounded by the Horn of Africa country, bearings a hard-line Muslim militia has been toting its stint. Celopin Diet Pill

Celopin Diet Terrene Celopin Diet Spaceship Earth: Does Celopin or component Diet Apple, Use You Lose Jag Fast? Does Celopin Diet Pill work? Does it accelerate weight loss? And is it safe? There's a long history of diet pills - and their dangerous side effects. From the amphetamines of the '50s ("speed" as diet pill!)... to the famous "fen-phen" disaster (when the FDA was humiliated, by having to recall a highly dangerous diet pill combination - mere months after they had approved it!)... to the "natural" diet pills of more recent years... (note that just because a diet pill gets its main ingredient "naturally" from a plant source, doesn't make it any safer than ingredients developed in the lab. Curare kills quickly, ya know!)... we've seen a long line of "disasters" in diet pill history. And most people will remember the recent recall of all diet pills containing ephedra. A more potent relative of caffeine, this ingredient caused widespread reports of heart problems, before it was eventually taken off the shelves in stores across all the Western, advanced-civilized nations! On the other hand, some dieters have claimed that a few types of diet pills have helped them lose weight. But those results are always accompanied by familiar problems: i) Frequent side effects including several different types of heart problems, diarrhea/constipation, sleeplessness, feelings of anxiety and higher stress, fainting, and elevated blood pressure. ii) Addiction. Several diet pill ingredients have suspected addictive qualities, and many people have reported getting "hooked" on using diet pills, long after their diets have ended. Plus, there are other common obstacles to using diet pills, which you must deal with: a) Diet pills only give you short-term results. Their effect lessens with time, as your body gets used to the presence of the pill's main ingredient(s), and naturally counteracts the pill's effects. b) The Bounce. Most users of diet pills find that after they stop using the pills, the weight comes back. But worse than that, studies have found that many diet pill users wind up at a HIGHER weight than when they started. (That has happened to me personally, with more than one diet pill I tried!) c) Not surprisingly, Big Pharma doesn't want to lose the huge amounts of money it makes from diet pills. So they've now begun offering diluted, over-the-counter brands of their leading prescription diet pills. But a diluted pill, has a diluted effect - so these pills are even more USELESS than their prescription counterparts! Diet Pills promise "fast and easy fat loss" but to get there, you have to suffer through an "obstacle course" - including a list of possibly dangerous side effects. There ARE ways to lessen these obstacles, plus there are some great alternatives which can help you REALLY lose weight "fast and easy". The Secret is to use a Complete Diet Plan, which gives you long-term PERMANENT weight loss... while helping you to enjoy a more healthy nutritional lifestyle! To find out how *I* succeeded in losing a ton of weight (and keeping it off!), look for my next articles - with ALL the details! Or if you’re in a hurry, you can just read this...
